Ok, let’s start with the basics. A blender is NOT a blender is NOT a blender. If you don’t believe me, purchase any blender from Wal-mart and you will see it doesn’t last long making smoothies! I tried it, I killed it…DEAD! Save your money…go for quality. Right now you’re probably saying, there’s no freaking way I’m paying $400 plus for a blender. I said that too! Nowadays, there’s a cheap and high quality version of just about any product available on the market. You get what you pay for. Blenders are no exception. I bit the bullet and purchased my first Vitamix blender back in 2005. Two months ago, something broke on it. The motor was still going strong, but the part to fix it was worth half of a new Vitamix.
Let me reiterate – I had this blender for 12 years with not the first problem until 2 months ago! That is amazing, considering what I put it through! Never in a million years did I think it would ever last that long. This $350 blender paid for itself a long, long time ago. I was so impressed, I did not hesitate to purchase my second Vitamix. It is a lot of money up front, but a good quality blender should last you several years.
There are several blenders on the market. I encourage you to watch a lot of Youtube videos before deciding, as it is a big purchase. You want to make sure you are happy with what you get. There are a lot of videos out there that demonstrate the different types of blenders, sometimes side by side. I personally enjoy the videos made by Discount Juicers and Dan McDonald, but there are several others out there. Whatever you decide, I’m excited that you are on this journey to optimal health and I wish you all the best! Today, our new Vitamix arrived, and sooner than expected! Man, that was a looong two months! I’m looking forward to making our 2017 summer smoothie videos! I had to share the excitement we felt when unpacking our new baby. Our family loves smoothies! And we love our Vitamix! Cheers!
